Publishing and Activating Content
ConversionWax uses a version-based publishing workflow that gives you full control over what is live on your website. You can create, edit, and preview content safely before pushing changes to production.
The Publishing Workflow
The typical workflow for getting content live is:
Create a content section and configure its display rules
Add banners and variants to the content
Publish the content to make it live on your website
Until you explicitly publish, no changes are visible to your website visitors.
Version System
Every time you save your content, ConversionWax creates a new version. This gives you a complete history of all changes and the ability to roll back if needed.
Each version is numbered sequentially (Version 1, Version 2, etc.)
You can publish any version - not just the most recent one
The content list shows which version is currently live with a green Version X Live badge
You can also add version notes to describe what changed in each version. This is helpful when collaborating with team members or tracking the history of a campaign.
Get Code
After creating your content section, use the Get Code button to copy the embed code snippet. Place this code on your website where you want the personalized content to appear. The embed code is tied to your content section's unique ID and will automatically serve whichever version is currently published.
Banner Updated Warning
If a banner used in your published content has been modified since the last publish, you will see a Banner Updated warning. This alert lets you know that the live version does not reflect the latest banner changes. To push those changes live, simply republish the content.
Scheduled Publishing
You can schedule content to go live at a future date and time. This is useful for:
Launching promotions at a specific time
Coordinating content changes with marketing campaigns
Planning seasonal content in advance
Set the publish date when creating or editing your content, and ConversionWax will automatically make it live at the scheduled time.
Content Activation
Each content section has an activation toggle that lets you turn it on or off without deleting it. This is useful when you want to:
Temporarily pause a campaign
Prepare content ahead of time and activate it later
Keep historical content available for reuse
Deactivated content remains in your content list and retains all its versions, banners, and settings. Simply toggle it back on when you are ready to use it again.
