How to Create Slideshow Content

Slideshow content sections let you rotate through multiple banners automatically, giving you a dynamic way to present several messages or offers in a single placement on your website.

What is a Slideshow?

A slideshow is a content type in ConversionWax that cycles through multiple banners in sequence. Each slide can have its own targeting rules, images, and click-through URLs - making it ideal for showcasing multiple promotions, products, or messages in one spot.

Creating a Slideshow

  • Navigate to your website and open the Content section.

  • Click Add Content Section and select Slideshow as the content type.

  • Give your slideshow a descriptive name so you can identify it later.

Adding Slides

Each slide in a slideshow is a banner. To build out your slideshow:

  • Click Add Banner within the slideshow content section to create a new slide.

  • Configure each banner with its own image assets for desktop, tablet, and mobile breakpoints.

  • Set click-through URLs and alt text for each slide.

  • Repeat to add as many slides as you need.

Targeting Rules Per Slide

Each slide can have independent display rules:

  • Location targeting - Show specific slides based on the visitor's country, region, or city.

  • URL rules - Display certain slides only on specific pages or URL patterns.

  • URL variables - Personalize slides based on URL parameters like UTM tags.

Auto-Advancement Settings

Slideshows automatically advance between slides. You can configure the timing and transition behavior to match your campaign goals. Faster rotations work well for quick promotions, while slower pacing suits storytelling or product showcases.

Tips for Effective Slideshows

  • Keep slide counts manageable - 3 to 5 slides perform best for engagement.

  • Use consistent sizing across all slides for a polished look.

  • Combine with scheduling to run time-sensitive slide rotations automatically.
