How do we determine which asset to show when A/B split testing

Updated this week

If you’re looking to set up A/B testing, check out our Setting up A/B testing guide.

We have a simple, effective way of determining which asset to show website visitors.

The first time a user arrives at the content, we use the clock to identify whether the millisecond is an even number or an odd number.

If the number is even, users are shown Asset A.
If the number is odd, users are shown Asset B.

Providing cookies are enabled, the user is continually shown the same Asset path each time they view your content.

This is provided that A/B testing is still enabled. If you disable A/B testing for a content, all users will be shown Asset A

You can check on your content’s split testing performance on your Conversion Wax dashboard.
