How Do We Determine Which Asset to Show in A/B Testing

Updated today

A/B Testing Asset Selection

ConversionWax uses a simple, effective method to determine which version a visitor sees during A/B split testing.

How It Works

The first time a visitor arrives at content with A/B testing enabled, ConversionWax checks the current time in milliseconds. If the millisecond value is even, the visitor sees Version A. If odd, they see Version B. This creates a near-perfect 50/50 split.

Persistence

Once a version is assigned, it is stored in a cookie so the same visitor always sees the same version on subsequent visits. This ensures consistent experiences and accurate analytics data.

Measuring Results

View A/B test results in the Analytics dashboard. The device breakdown section shows side-by-side metrics for Version A and Version B, including impressions, page loads, and clicks.
