How to Create a Custom Banner Size

ConversionWax includes default breakpoints for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. If you need to target specific viewport widths - such as ultra-wide monitors, foldable phones, or other non-standard screens - you can define custom breakpoints for your banners.

Default Breakpoints

Every banner automatically includes three standard breakpoints:

  • Desktop - For standard laptop and desktop screens.

  • Tablet - For tablet-sized viewports.

  • Mobile - For smartphones and small screens.

Each breakpoint lets you assign a different image asset, ensuring your banner looks great on every device.

Adding Custom Breakpoints

To create a custom banner size:

  • Open a banner in the banner editor.

  • Look for the Breakpoints section within the banner form.

  • Click Add Breakpoint to define a new custom viewport width.

  • Enter the pixel width that should trigger this variant (for example, 2560px for ultra-wide monitors or 400px for foldable phone inner screens).

  • Upload or select an image asset sized appropriately for that breakpoint.

  • Set the alt text and click URL for the custom variant.

When to Use Custom Breakpoints

  • Ultra-wide monitors - Serve higher resolution or wider banner images to users on large displays.

  • Foldable phones - Target the unique viewport dimensions of foldable devices in their unfolded state.

  • Kiosk or in-store displays - Match the exact resolution of specialized hardware.

  • Specific layout needs - When your site design requires a banner variant at a non-standard width.

Tips

  • Order your breakpoints from largest to smallest viewport width for clarity.

  • Always preview your banner across breakpoints to confirm the right asset loads at each size.

  • Use the asset dimension metadata to verify your images match the intended display size.
