Track changes, add notes, and roll back to any version

Every time you save changes to a piece of content, ConversionWax creates a new version. This gives you a complete history of all changes, the ability to add notes describing what changed, and the flexibility to publish or roll back to any version.

How Versioning Works

Each time you save content - whether as a draft or a published version - a new version number is assigned automatically (Version 1, Version 2, etc.). The original content is never overwritten; every previous version is kept in full.

Viewing Version History

From your content list, each content section shows its most recent versions in an expandable accordion. Click on any content to see:

  • Version number

  • Last modified date

  • Version notes (if provided)

  • Published status - a green badge indicates the version that is currently live

  • Banner preview - a thumbnail of the banner(s) in that version

Click "Show All Versions" to expand the full history (the 6 most recent versions are shown by default).

Adding Version Notes

When saving content, you have the option to add a version note describing what changed. This is helpful for teams so everyone can understand the purpose of each update.

  • Click Save as Draft or Save and Publish

  • In the save dialog, enter a note in the "Version Notes" field (e.g., "Updated hero banner for spring campaign")

  • Notes are optional but recommended for clarity

Saving as Draft

When you save as a draft, the new version is created but not published. This is useful for:

  • Preparing content in advance without affecting what is live

  • Getting team review before publishing

  • Making incremental changes over time

Drafts are saved but not visible to your website visitors until you explicitly publish them.

Publishing a Version

You can publish any version of your content - not just the latest one. This makes it easy to roll back to a previous version if needed.

When publishing, you have two options:

  • Publish Now - Make the version live immediately

  • Schedule for Later - Choose a future date, time, and timezone

Scheduling a Publish

To schedule a version for future publication:

  • Click Save and Publish

  • Check the Schedule for later option

  • Select a timezone from the dropdown (grouped by United States, Europe, and Other)

  • Pick a date and time using the calendar picker

  • Click Schedule Publication

You can reschedule or cancel a scheduled publish at any time before the scheduled date.

Version Analytics

Each version has its own analytics data. From the version history, click the Analytics button on any version to view its performance metrics (impressions, clicks, page loads) for the period it was live.

Top Tip! Use version notes consistently to build a clear audit trail. Notes like "Black Friday hero banner" or "Reverted to previous design" make it much easier to understand your content history at a glance.
